These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FIRE Journey ("the Service," "we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
FIRE Journey is a personal finance planning platform focused on financial independence. The Service lets you track accounts and expenses, model income and spending, and generate long-term projections using tools such as deterministic forecasts, historical backtests, and Monte Carlo simulations. Optional features include linking financial accounts through third-party providers, sharing a plan with household members you invite, and an AI assistant that can answer questions about your plan.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. When you register, you agree to:
If you invite someone to your household, they will be able to view and edit the plans and financial data shared with that household. You are responsible for who you invite, and you can remove household members at any time.
The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers with additional features. By purchasing a subscription you agree to the following:
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
You may optionally connect financial accounts through third-party providers such as Plaid and Coinbase. By linking an account, you authorize us to retrieve balances, holdings, and transactions from those providers on your behalf. These connections are read-only: the Service cannot move money or place trades. Your use of these providers is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for the accuracy or availability of data they supply. You can disconnect linked accounts at any time in your settings.
The Service is an educational and planning tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and we are not a fiduciary, broker-dealer, investment adviser, or tax preparer.
All projections, simulations, tax estimates, and other outputs are hypothetical illustrations based on the data and assumptions you provide. They are inherently uncertain, may contain errors, and are not guarantees of future results. Actual outcomes will differ, possibly materially. Past market performance, including historical backtests, does not predict future returns. Consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions.
Some features use large language models to generate responses about your plan. AI-generated content can be incomplete or wrong, and it is not advice. Verify anything important before acting on it. When you use AI features, relevant plan data is processed by third-party model providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
You own the data you enter into the Service and the data retrieved from your linked accounts. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that data solely to provide, maintain, and improve the Service. We do not sell your data. You can delete your account and associated data at any time.

The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding your data), is and will remain the exclusive property of FIRE Journey and its licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we will give reasonable notice where practicable. Following account deletion or termination, we delete your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) survive.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY PROJECTION OR CALCULATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FIRE JOURNEY AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON IT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FIRE Journey from and against claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
We may modify these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days notice by email or through the Service before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we are organized, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of it. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
